My work draws from the inner patterns and memories that surface when the eyes are closed. Gestural marks and impressionistic colours mimic the instability and fluidity of closed eye hallucinations and dreams.
By working from closed-eye imagery, I seek to bypass conscious control and access a more instinctive mode of seeing, one that invites viewers to engage in a rational, conscious analysis of a scene that was born from an irrational, unconscious state.
